Cannon Beach Bakery
In business for more than 80 years, this bakery is famous for its loaves of Cannon Beach Sourdough and The Original Haystack Bread. The original owner, William J. (John) McRoberts, was born in Kansas in 1877 and made his way to the North Oregon Coast with his parents by covered wagon, who both immigrated from Scotland. McRoberts first opened a bakery in Seaside, but it was destroyed in a fire. He moved his business to Cannon Beach, where it has been ever since. Today the bakery is lovingly run by the Hammond family, who have baking in their DNA, and carry on the tradition of delicious baked goods.
